Broadway. Fashion Week. Fifth Avenue. Madison Avenue. New York City has long been a hub for the beauty, fashion, theater, film, television and art worlds. When MUD’s New York Campus opened its doors in 2005, we were excited to create a center for aspiring and working make-up artists in one of the most bustling cities in the world.
Today, MUD’s New York Campus occupies the fifteenth floor of the historic American Express building in the Financial District. Our Campus is just steps away from Wall Street, Stone Street eateries and the Battery Park waterfront area. Students can choose from four comprehensive programs or individual courses, learning the basics of beauty, character or special make-up effects. They’ll also have access to career advisement, a robust alumni network and ongoing MUD Talks with established make-up artists.
At MUD, you have the opportunity to fully immerse yourself in the epicenters of the beauty, fashion, film, and television industries – vibrant hubs for makeup artistry. Opt for comprehensive makeup programs tailored to provide a strong foundation in your areas of interest, or refine your skills through our continuing education courses. Whether you’re a working artist, student, or graduate, these facilities are at your disposal as valuable resources. Utilize our Learning Resource Center for research, participate in complimentary Saturday workshops, or attend talks featuring insights from our esteemed Industry Speaks artists.
MUD regularly hosts Open Houses at our New York City Campus. Guests can visit the Campus and cosmetic store, meet with administrative staff, and enjoy demos ranging from beauty to special make-up effects looks from talented artists. For more information on when our next open house for our NYC campus is, contact us!
New York City is served by a wide range of public transportation options. Students can access in-depth information about traveling in and out of New York on the websites listed below.
To get acclimated to New York City before arriving, we recommend that students review travel books like the Not For Tourists Guide to New York City. Information is updated annually and structured on a neighborhood-by-neighborhood basis.
