Nothing has had more of an impact on the art of make-up design than Film and Television. From basic correction make-up to the intricacies of special make-up effects, the Film and Television Make-up Artistry Program teaches the techniques necessary to prepare actors for the camera and help them bring characters to life. The 420-hour program is taught over a 12-week period and includes both the core beauty and special make-up effects courses.
From basic corrective make-up to the intricacies of applied special make-up effects, the Film and Television Make-Up Artistry Program teaches the techniques necessary to prepare actors for the camera to bring characters to life. Program graduates will be prepared with the make-up artistry skills necessary to work in the film and television industry.
This course provides instruction on the basics of skin tone matching, highlights and shadows, facial analysis, contouring, color theory, corrective make-up, and proper cosmetic hygiene. Students are guided through the basics before progressing to creating flawless beauty make-ups or male corrective looks.
This course provides students with instruction in the techniques required to create a variety of hairstyles, ranging from updos to hairstyles from different time periods. As students progress, the hairstyling techniques become more advanced in difficulty, and Beauty 101 skills are incorporated to create a complete look.
Where does a student turn for expert advice? At MUD you turn to an outstanding team of make-up professionals. One of the best things about being a MUD student is the exposure you have to talented and accomplished instructors. All of the teachers draw on at least five years of experience in a diverse range of make-up fields including television, fashion, and cosmetic sales.
This program has been designed to provide graduates with the skills necessary to begin a career as an entry-level make-up artists in film and television.
After graduating from the Film and Television Make-up Artistry Program will be prepared with the beauty and special make-up effects skills necessary to work in both the film and television industry. Our programs prepare students for the occupation of “Make-up Artist, Theatrical and Performance”
Our program is a 12-week program consisting of 420 hours.
