Your journey to a world of opportunity.
MUD was founded as a school for make-up artists, by make-up artists. Today it’s evolved into much more. We offer an educational passport into the world of make-up for the film, television, fashion, beauty and wedding industries, with credits that are transferrable across our global network of MUD Campuses, Studios and Partner Schools.

The MUD team is excited to announce the first edition of our new quarterly magazine, Portraits.
Since we founded MUD more than twenty years ago, we’ve been endlessly inspired by the ways in which our community of students, grads, instructors and friends has grown and thrived. In Portraits, we’ll be celebrating groundbreaking work created by talented members of our community.

If I could give advice to any MUD grad or student, or anyone thinking about becoming a make-up artist, I would say: take every opportunity that comes your way. Don’t say no to anything, especially in the beginning. You never know where those relationships are going to lead you. Be humble, be kind and be patient. |

Celebrity make-up artist Nicole Faulkner, aka “Lipsticknick,” has put herself on the map with a vibrant artistic style characterized by bold lips, feathery eyelashes and flawless skin. After graduating from MUD in 2010, Nicole began working at MAC Cosmetics. Here, she met celebrity Todrick Hall, who invited her to join the cast of his MTV reality show, Todrick, in 2015. The social media buzz she gained from her time on the show led to new connections — including work on RuPaul’s Drag Race, where she recently earned her third Emmy nomination for Outstanding Makeup for a Multi-Camera Series (Non-Prosthetic) for the episode “Trump: The Rusical”. Today, Nicole is leading the team at Pout, her all-inclusive, LA-based beauty bar business that offers both traditional and specialty make-up services like face and body paint.
