Through MUD Cares, we strive to make a personal difference in the everyday lives of people with special needs, or those living in underserved communities. We like to think of it as building a foundation for a gorgeous tomorrow.
Today, MUD Cares is proud to contribute to organizations like JOY PROM Las Vegas, Malaika, Beauty Changes Lives, NextAid and Red Rhino.
JOY PROM Las Vegas
Each year, the organizers of JOY PROM Las Vegas put on a full-scale prom for teenagers and adult individuals with cognitive and physical impairments. Held at the M Casino and Resort in Las Vegas, JOY PROM pulls out all the stops to celebrate every guest. It’s an experience designed to create confidence and delight, make memories, and provide a night of fun in a safe, protected environment. Through MUD Cares, professional artists donate their time by providing make-up services and Make-up Designory donates product, ensuring that every guest looks and feels his or her best.
Malaika
Malaika is a grassroots non-profit organization founded by supermodel and celebrity Noella Coursaris Musunka. Its mission is to empower girls and women in communities across the Democratic Republic of Congo by providing a free, high-quality education to girls aged 5-18. Malaika, which means “angel” in Swahili, has operated a school since 2011. MUD Cares sponsors the education of two students attending the Malaika school and also donates the services of professional make-up artists to assist Noella with her promotional appearances.
Beauty Changes Lives
Beauty Changes Lives is a non-profit founded with the goal of providing mentorship, inspiration and scholarships to help empower students to pursue their beauty professions of choice. The organization collaborates with industry leaders in a variety of beauty specialties to sponsor scholarships, foster mentorships and showcase the impact each individual can have in the beauty world. Each year, MUD Cares donates scholarships of $2,500 each for ten students. In addition, our team members volunteer their time and expertise.
NextAid and Red Rhino
MUD Cares teamed up with NextAid, a non-profit committed to helping children on the African continent who have lost their parents due to the AIDS epidemic, and the Red Rhino Orphanage Project to build a home for sixteen orphaned children in Kenya. To support this cause, MUD developed and promoted a limited-edition, project-specific palette of unique Eye Colors. This campaign raised $25,000, which went toward the construction of the Red Rhino Children’s Center, a housing facility that provides rescued children, children at risk and orphaned children with a safe, caring and healthy home.
